This Type Of Thinking Could Do Us In

Righto, chad.
"it's often hard to try and define an objective line across which the negative repercussions of the former outweigh the felt benefits of the latter" (subjects in full length comment)

You make good points...thanks for adding. I agree, the cost/benefit analysis of xanga world can be complicated. The group therapy angle is also good to think about...I hadn't thought of it. I guess the only thing I'd hope is that cost/ben consideration not be totally ignored.

Anyway, moving on....do you ever feel alone, and hate it...but then get the chance to hang out with people and not take it because you're too consumed with feeling alone? It's almost logical it's so illogical.

I can't believe I'm posting two days in a row! Close enough. Alright, so I guess I have room to clarify:

I totally agree with 'put whatever you want on Xanga', afterall, it's your site. It wasn't a freedom of speech clampdown, believe you me (Badnarik 04).

I was just noticing..seeing and hearing..that certain things were being put on xanga/whatever that maybe shouldn't have been. I'm not talking about stuff that 'could get people in trouble at work,' but more like personal things between family members that might be best handled with a few close friends. I wasn't tryin to start anything...just kinda adding a thought to the dialogue.

So, go ahead, post whatever. I just don't think it's a bad idea to check the good produced/damage done ratio* and take it into consideration.

*"good produced" can be substituted for whatever reason it is that you post

Man....

That's all I got. Why am I even doing this? I don't know. Anyway, my JoeCool05 name seems outdated....not like when I made it in 04 when it seemed insightful and futuristic.

I gotta question/thought for some of you. What is being put on xanga's? Struggles are struggles, and we have to work through them together as a community....but I'm not sure the internet is a place for all of them. We might be doing more damage than good.

Goin back to ISU in the fall. Hope to see all of you there :)

Bored Bored Bored. Boring bored bored McBoring bad times (as HDM might say). Anyway, I've got a multimillion dollar building to myself and I'm bored. Lockdown was easy, in case anyone was wondering. Mostly everything was locked up (or down) already. Let see...what else. Oh, I saw a person. That was wierd. Burt from Trades was next door for a few. He's gone now (I'm pretty sure). Other than that I haven't seen any life here. Maybe I'll go count the seats in the Auditorium...just to make sure they got the number right. There's supposed to be 7,097 or something like that. Wouldn't it be hilarious if there was really only like 6,500 seats? I would laugh. Of course I would also be alone...so that makes it less funny. Can you tell I'm rambling? Good. I'm sure I'll post again in 5 minutes. later

Ok, so about that Volunteer Revolution post a while ago....

I read on about 3 pages and found that what I had previously thought about the book was addressed. In short, I had thought the book encouraged people to serve out of selfishness.... but then on like page 53 or something the book explicitly stated that a servant's heart comes from selflessness and that the reason for serving isn't to feel good or to serve your own desires (that's my rough interpretation). So basically, further reading proved my former diagnosis of the book wrong. So that's good.
